Splicing with X-Rigging Rings

mishmah on comments.

I know everything from threads to wire, dyneema to stainless steel.

My life has been in 20 different industries, my health and saftey has been on the front line for 25yrs.

So my skills, methods, testing, products ... outperforms, so in my view, I have the industry standard that they should be looking at.

I'm a world class operatic singer and a world class horse trainer. Do you believe me just because I said it or should I back that up in some way. You're still anonymous in your profile, you think that instills confidence in your claims?

Re: Re

I like this thread, transatlantic splicing standards and ego are my favorite subjects.

Who likes talking about tree climbing gear anyway!

Re: Re

What i'm trying to say is this.....

Many people around the world have my spliced ropes and other kit, everyone rates them highly, the comments on 'what if's?' always comes from people who have little understanding of techniques and rope construction.

Feather ruffling was done on purpose to make the haters step forward.

I can train horses, my singing is rubbish, I can do flick reverse turns and handbrake into parking spaces :)

Re: Re

Tuttle, pleas start a new thread with some splicing specific topics where you can tell us something about your tricks.
Like how you shorten/modify the measuring for a C1DB climbing line f.e.., or e2e's or whatever seems relevant.

We then could talk about content and not form, which is what I would prefer anyway...

And we would stop derailing bonners thread.
Or do you want to add something about his splices or splicing on the xyz-rings? :)

Re: Re

Just received some X-rings as a promo!!! Whipped these up a few days ago.

Re: Re

first use. Thanks David!
LeviRockett,

In the last two photos you posted there is a green tenex prusik attached to your dbl braid lines. How is the tenex prusik spliced. I'm sure the ring is attached w/ a locked brummell, but how do you create the large loop? Thanks for the help.

Bonner,

How and in what scenario do you use the yellow slng with the ring spliced midway ? Or am I seeing it wrong? It looks neat.

The loop is created by and end to end splice using samson instructions although I found that there is simply too much bulk in this setup for it to be functional (for me)

Thanks for the info. I have decided to splice a large ring onto some 5/8 dbl braid. Then I'll splice an eye & eye with 2 med rings (one on each end) out of 1/2 dbl braid for the prusik. That set up satisfies the three ring recommendation for a terminal rigging point and eliminates bulk in the prusik.
