Splicing Throwline

I have tried splicing 3/8th stable braid but have run out of rope to practice on. I have seem spliced thrown line but I am not sure what to use to splice it. I have zing-it available to me to use but what about a fid or puller, what is being used? Also are the types of splices similar to ones you would use for Tenex(hollow braids)? Thank for any input, i could not find much on the search function.

easist way to splice Throwline is:

works great in Slickline or Blackline, forms a tough eye. I use three pass thru's and melt the end of the line to form a tiny ball. will not pull out.

I will do a mobius brummell or just a straight bury in zing it. Either works.

For a "fid", I thread the tapered tail into a sail needle, then use the BACK of the needle.

What else works really well, espeicailly with the tighter throwlines like the red and white Edlrid, is pulling one single thread out of a piece of zing-it, thread the two tale ends through a small normal needle (which gives you a loop)and stick it through the hart of the throwline. Attach your tapperd end of line in the loop of zing-it and pull in. The zing-it is that strong you can easily us pliers to hold the thread of zing-it.

works like a charm!!

So you're using the strands of the line to pull it through it's own self?

Nicely done. I'll have to remember that one for when times get desperate!

Why not thread the tapered tail straight onto the needle?
