Splicing...not just for rope

I bought an '05 Safari van a week ago. After installing the trailer hitch it was time tondo the lights. GM did a nice uh by factory wiring in a long pigtail with the eight wires for trailers. It was wrapped with cracked tape. That wouldn't do. I looks around for some tubing to use and then...!!! Yes!!! Use some sheath for sheathing the wires.

One piece of sheath went on each bundle of wires. After soldering and shrink tubing I milked the ends together and used the hot cutter to melt the two ends together. Does that count as a splice?!

Take a look at the jack. I got it from Pep Boys. Under $50 delivered. It's a jackstand and jack in one unit! Very clever

Jim Fiorentino, the splicers for Shelter, just built himself a splicing/man cave. And all the exposed wires for overhead lighting is cased in tachyon. Thought it was a great touch. Haven't seen it in person yet. Soon hopefully
