Spikes! help

I've been using kleins for years... how do those pole gaffs work for you, I used to work with a guy who had the geckos with 2 inch gaffs and he seemed to spike out alot.

I own the geckos with euro gaffs and have NEVER spiked out. I did have a little trouble with a sycamore one day where I didn't feel the gaff was getting in deep enough so I used a flat file and sharpened em up. They work like they are brand spankin new now, minus the pads falling of because of crappy Velcro
