Hey Chris.
I've been using straight buries on Tenex Tec for at least 8 years with no problems. No Brummels, just a straight bury. Check out Samson Ropes instructions at Samsonrope.com, Resources & Literature, Splicing Instructions, Class 1 eye splice.
Call me if you have any questions.

using brummels takes some of the strength out of the rope. I feel that they have their place, like when a short bury is needed, other wise I don't see the point of using them. Why reduce a 10K line to 8.5K when you don't have to?

I pretty much just use brummels on hollow braid. I guess on a spider leg having a shorter bury length isn't important but I've had lockstitching come undone before so I like the added security.

I use brummels because I recently had a sling give out on me while I was hoisting it due to lack of good inspection of the locking stitches. To each thier own, though. If you always remember to inspect each and every piece of gear you may call for in a tree before you ascend or trust your groundies to do a solid inspection, I guess a straight bury would be fine. 15% reduction seems like a small price to pay for taking one of the human elements oit of the equation.
