For the gray gloom that hovers over Rochester in the winter salsa music is my go to.

Here is Tito Puente playing Ran Kan Kan. I remember playing conga with our Latin ensemble with members of Tito’s band (now Spanish Harlem Orchestra) Johnny Rodriguez, and Mitch Froman. Their energy was wild to try and imitate.

Anyway, it brings sunshine into my ears which warms my soul.
