I have 3 figure-8 devices that are taking up space on my shelf.
First is a Kong Rescue-8. Had used it in a basal anchor system and stopped using it in favor of a gri-gri. It shows the expected dings, scratches and wear from such use.
Second up is an SMC NFPA-83 Rescue 8. This was my "foot-locking" descender and had carried it on my saddle. Only rappelled on it a couple of times to make sure I could operate it properly. Having gone to the RW I no longer have need for this one.
Lastly is a CLOG traditional 8 that I used for light rigging in the canopy. Used this one quite a bit for lowering small limbs and wood less than 5" diameter. Ended up going with a munter hitch and haven't used this in quite a while.
