So you thought you knew how to tie your boots

Been here much more than a while
I finally perfected a secure boot lace tying technique, laces coming apart in the trees has always plagued me, it's a PIA. I've been using this lace-up for a year plus and it never gives up. Careful though, if you're in some romantic scenario where you want your boots off fast, not going to happen, you'll have to be creative. You're forewarned, don't blame me!

Been using a surgeon knot for a while. Holds well and still fast. Will give this a try.

I may or may not judge people based on how well their shoes are tied….

I like it.

I have been using a single cross on the eyelet or catch before the top, then a single cross like normal at the top, then the normal bow tie, then overhand knot the bow tie on itself, but need to finish with the double overhand like you.

You take your boots off in romantic situations? She always tells me to leave them on

Bro, there is a reason the top two lacing points are hooks- just pull tight and pop those laces right over the hooks-

Surgeons knot for boots is the way! Never need the second backup myself

Also, If you wear the same thickness of socks you don't even need to retie the next day- I tie my hikers like 2x per month

I hate to be the bearer of bad news Moss, but I have been tying my boots like this for over 40 years. Learned it from an old logger who got tired of watching me trip over my boot laces all day.
That’s amazing! Not trying to be original, just solving a problem. Should’ve known to ask you first. Too cool though.

Also helps to take a partial wrap and tie them behind by your calf. Works best on 20 eye loggers
