Sl tech antidote splice?

Hello there. Wondering if anyone out there has spliced the SL Tech Antidote. It is an 11.1mm 24 strand double braid but has 3 strands inside of the core. I have spliced poison ivy many times but have never spliced anything with the extra core strands.
Any advise would be great. Thank you!

I recently had an atlantic braids rope surprise me with an inner core. @Worthaug directed me towards the tachyon instructions.

Splices exactly like 24 strand double braid, with the added steps of extracting, then tapering the inner core.

I have read through the tachyon instructions and it looks pretty straight forward. One thing I noticed is that at the end it says "if required" lock stitch and whip. I was under the impression that we always lock stitch. When would one not require this step?
