SIP 5.1 under fire

Thank you for the info. Had a couple of Si´p 5.1 but didn´t like them much, mostly because the wasn´t durable enough. They of course beat any of the old fashioned pants with 9 layers and beaver nylon and Sip is one of the innovators in this industry pushing foreward to give us new more comfy and safer ppe. But for now my legs belong to Pfanner.

Thank you for the great info Paul.

I have had the SIPS 5.1 since they were brought to the US. They are among the very best available (IMO). Stretch a bit, light and yet still protect you. I also like the fit- not too tight. Mine are a little short in the leg or I'd probably wear them a bunch more.

I recently swapped to SIPS good trousers. JUst remember any say will cut through any chainsaw trousers in seconds if you don't realise you've hit yourself and close the throttle. We did tests at college many years ago.

Anybody sell protective Pfanner's in the US? I'd love to keep my legs intact.

I too have been trying to find somewhere that sells them. The closest I got was a Canadian distributor www.stretchair.ca but it says they're waiting for WCB (Can. OSHA) to certify all the protective clothing so all you can buy right now is non-protective stuff.

Thanks Paul for clearing the air.
As you can see even in Holland we picked up the the rumour about the SIP's.
It's nice that there is a place like Treebuzz where you can really find out what is going on.
I hope that the sales at SIP will rocket sky high after this. Good luck and keep the gear in the shape that we can trust...

Thank you SIPman,
I think it's great to see REPS from the products we use, show up on the Buzz. It says alot about a company, who will take the time to talk/listen to their clients. Please keep us informed when you get the results.

Wanted to jump on this post real quick and ask a question about sizing. what size do you guys wear in relation to your street pants? Do these run small or big? I ordered a pair and a little nervous that I may have ordered them too small. The sizing seems weird.
