Should I offer to prune this big sweet gum?

Well, I talked to the homeowner, explained what I had in mind, and got her approval for removing the lower limbs. The homeowner on the other side of the property line was happy about the plan, too.

I made the first climb Tuesday morning, and removed six small limbs on the HO's side with the razor saw. I used the speedline on the last one, and then repositioned it in the tree for the one I planned to cut on the next climb. Came down, cleaned up all the debris, and went home for lunch.

This stop work order was clipped to my climbing rig when I came back:

I made a quick climb to retrieve my speedline and sling. The HO next door was more disappointed than I was. They were tired of the mess, too, and I didn't get to cut any limbs on their side of the tree.

I guess I should have cut stuff on their side first. LOL
