Sherrill SRT Tree Frog System

if you dont have a fixed attachment point you have to create your own. i own a treemotion saddle and i was able to acheive a fixed attachment point by using the small dynama slings that most use for there microsenders on both of my side d rings, i then connected the croll and both slings together using the delta link, but like i said before, not a good fit because there is so much on that little link.

I own a TreeFlex saddle which is especially designed for SRT ascents and has a nice fixed central attachment point which works great for the croll. I use an HMS biner to connect it to my saddle instead of a delta link.

hey chris, im actually looking into the treeflex because of the srt friendly set up, the problem with using a larger carabiner like you use is that it keeps the croll that much high up on your body, the croll is supposed to be positioned as low as possible for a better sense of balance, for you, i think the delta link would work rather well considering the only thing that will be attached to it is the croll, and, i would hate to use a 20 dollar carabiner for this use when you could use a 7 dollar delta link, maybe (and it probably is) just me but it seems that when i designate a carabiner for something i always end up needing that same one for another task, but if you do switch over to a delta i suggest that you wrench that bolt down so you dont run into the same problem i have

ps, how do you like the treeflex,
tom, i see you have one as well, it is treating you well thus far?

pm me as to avoid hi jacking the thread, thanks guys

I use a small, oval, stainless steel screw link on the bottom of my chest ascender. That makes for a super compact and low attachment. Being able to get just a split second 'rest' every ratchet up the rope is an almost hidden benefit.

There are still some tiny 'Tom Touch' modifications in line for my TF. Nothing major to speak of.

I really like the TF. I'm going to weigh my BFII and TF to see how they compare. Both are geared up the same so it should be interesting.

Hi Marc,
I have no problem with using the HMS biner with the TreeFlex saddle beacause of the way that it is setup.

The TF is designed to ride low instead of up around the waist. The blue attachment point is positioned a couple of inches below the navel.

What this does is allow me to position the croll low enough with the HMS biner to allow proper balance with use.

I do not like using delta links for personal support, even though many people do.

I also think that the TreeFlex will be the saddle of the future. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, especially if you want to aviod MSD's and stay in this trade for longer than 5 years.

thanks chris, ill give it a week and make my decision then, already have the treemotion and its great but i would love to see what all the rave is.

i dont blame you for not liking the delta link connector, it was a bit of an eye opener for me, although i do blame myself for it failing because of all the connections i had hooked onto it its still a bit scary, ill let ya know what happens with the treeflex
