Share some of your tricks with everyone

I would like to hear and, if possible, see some little tricks that you might use to make climbing easier. For example: I use a climbers hitch pully with a VT. When im starting near the base of the tree, i put a 30inch double eye split tail through the ring on my bridge and then put the beaner on my climbing line through both ends. That way my hitch can be further away from me as i go up and all i have to do is go hand over hand. Then when i get up the tree, i lanyard in and put the beaner through my ring.

I use the same system sometimes. I clip another carabiner straight to the bridge. This way you don't even need to lanyard in when switching from the long to short system and vice-versa.

From the bridge to where? Seems like you'd still need to safety in to extend/retract.

I use a piece of the Anchor Bridge to do this technique, but I've still got to lanyard in to be 100% safe.

What you've shown is a very simplified versions of Rich H's anchor bridge system.

Nick do you remember the bungie teather you spliced for me for this technique.Kinda the same principle but it stays smaller when not using it.

I see.

I hate to be the stickler, but thats connecting two biners link to link.

what should be done is the end biner the crome and green should be in top hole. The middle hole should be for the bridge and the gold biner left open to shorten the system. Then there is no need to landyard up to ajust length.

Kinda borrowed this idea from the bungie in the footlock prusik.I use it all the time and never safety in because im always connected.Kinda keeps it more compact and out of the way when your not using the teather.
