The padding on the master is great i haven't tryed another saddle on that compares. I've added a bridge and it works great. I've never tried the sequoia

Re: sequoia vs master

Sequoia wins in a fight to the death with the Master.

I've run the scenario dozens of times on a program my uncle helped me write.

Sequoia is a clear winner.

The Master will bring you nothing but pain and misery.

Besides you have to belive chubby guys about comfort of a saddle. They spend more time in them then the rest.

Re: sequoia vs master

I've been climbing with the Sequoia for about 6 months and I have one major complaint. The side D's are sometimes difficult to clip into, especially when you have all of your weight in the saddle. The D's are a little small and when your weight is in it, they pull tight forward into the saddle, making it hard to clip in a snap. This usually happens at the worst times (like a limb walk) when you really want to safety in quickly. Also had some issues getting the waist strap tight enough, then the saddle can creep up.

Re: sequoia vs master

I'll second the comment about the side D's. Don't know why they are pointed so far forward. Can't criticize much else about it though.

Ihad similar troubles with my master

Re: sequoia vs master

No problems with the leg straps, they seem to sit nicely and you can move them if you are hanging in one spot for awhile ie: cabling.

Sorry Ed I couldn't play the video through my phone, was it a vid of an ice cream eating contest? Cause if so, you don't stand a chance kid. As a matter of fact. I am proclaiming myself the ice cream eating champion of treebuzz. If you don't like it, then step into the ring, spoons drawn.

Ps, I'm also very good at drinking/making hot chocolate. Bring it beotch.

Re: sequoia vs master

Here are my thoughts!! I have owned both of the saddles and have owned the sequoia for 1 year 4 months now. IMO the sequoia is much better in all departments except... durability. I have all-ready replaced the bridge due to extreme wear. Which really is no big deal, it's made to be replaced.
Also where the saddle connects to the rings it is getting very glossy, and i can see some puffing. This concerns me but not too much, as their is two saddle attachments points on each ring so both would have to fail simultaneously in order for injury to occur.
Would i buy another one after this one is retired? I'm stuck on this because i think this saddle is extremely light and comfortable. However, i really have an issue with spending four bills on a saddle every year or two. I know i spend lots of time in it, but i have my same asolo shoes from three years ago that have molded to my feet. I was hoping to mold this saddle to me as well.
I think mentioning the Petzl boss saddle is worth something. Built like a brick "you know what" house. Doesn't have individual leg straps but it really is a heavy duty saddle.
So to answer your question, yes the sequoia!!!

I know it's a little off subject... I looked at the sequoia, and a friends master. I went and tried a cougar as well. Being a bigger guy I love the cougar! I spend all day (even lunch!) in this thing, not one problem!

The scenario is two saddles enter, one saddle leaves. While it is similar to the thunderdome, there are fewer Australians involved.

The program is confidential, as I promised my uncle I wouldn't tell the secret of how he constructed his thunderdome.

Re: sequoia vs master

so, i'm still not quite clear, but this is the image i have in my head....

two people, one wearing the master and the other in the sequoia, enter a giant dome with two ropes hanging from the apex of the dome. They then prociede to battle to the death with a variety of chainsaws and handsaws that the crowd gives them. Whichever saddle the winning person has on is the one you choose.

is this accurate?

Yes you understand now Waldo. Or you could be like the rest and just buy the saddle the winner of the ITCC wears. Cuase if he won then it must be the best one. You plainly see now right?
