Sequoia 1.1 Ideas

Where can I get NT leg loops, I mean just the loops? :D

I had an NT YellowJacket harness lying around that I didn't like so I took the leg pads off that. Last time I asked NT wouldn't sell them separately. I can talk to NT and ask if they'll do the mod and if so how much would they charge. I'm backed up on gear projects but should sew up some custom leg pads offer the mod myself. -AJ

@ Waldo: No, not really. And even if the stitching rips the screw link would be still inside the webbing.
@ Moss: Shipping a harness from Europe to the US would be a little to much for this mod I think...
Thanks! Luckily I have comfortable loops on my sequoia already, the originals are really crap!
The new ones are better btw, but the hipbelt of the old one appeals much more to me.
I even bought an old model to have one in spare, I really like the hipbelt...

Thanks, Cut. I'm not running this saddle in production work. I just put it together with stuff that was conveniently hand so I could feel what the differences would make. In all honestly, the mod isn't really all that good except for the lower ring location which is bomber.

I think I want to try an Onyx after all I've heard, but for some reason it reminds me of something my friend said (he's a rock and roller); "You know you're old when semi-hollow bodied guitars start to look really cool." It made me laugh so hard. I don't know why, but something about the NT designs hark to that, but the Onyx sure looks like a real leap forward for them.

Oceans, I just ordered my Onyx from Luke a few days ago. Hopefully I will have it today to give it a try. First rope bridge harness, been running their Tree Fox for a year and love it as a single bridge rec harness. I post some thoughts on it after I play on it.

Here's the Sequoia SRT harness leg pad mod I did quite a while ago, still very comfortable, doesn't limit my mobility, very light etc.

Man Moss, I wish I had your mod/stitching skills. I would love a little extra love on the leg pads of my Sequoia. Great Job

Oh my oh my I just got to this thread Eric....funny how things come around...years back I was modding the crap outta my sequoias ( which you disliked...lol )...then you convinced me the TM was the bomb...off I went and got one then modded the crap outta a PERFECT harness...which I then got rid of to your employee at the time....then I bought another one which I still climb on over two years later...THE TM RULES ALL HARNESSES IMHO....but there are others that are great for production work and big saws...ERGO and KOLIBRI....still I am in love with my TM....never will I go back to a sequoia which you now are praising....we tree climbers are a funny bunch....I can't say how the LOWER D's of the TM make the harness, no rigging plate setup or sequoia rings can duplicate that...and I know secretly you ARE still in LOVE with your TM Eric....and you still climb on it...bet ya a lot too....ha ha It helps me enjoy my office....IMG00998-20140425-1307.webp

Hey Swing, your chest harness in that pic, is that home made or what? looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I'm sick of twisting up a sling every time, and like having my lanyard free.

I often thought the Petzl Voltige would be nice, but it's hard to know. I think it's made for the Omni carabiner. I'm liking the SS dog snap/accessory 'biner on a web sling for now. I forget it's on.

Hey macswan, ask Eric for one....think I gave him one sometime back ( but as usual he likes his own crazy gig.... lol ha ha )....if not I will make you one PM me your address and I will get one to you.....really sweet and non invasive...never know it's there...I bought the Voltige from Adam P, Eric and it was thick and hot...sold it back to him....this is so much better....it's adjstable too....easy on easy off...

Talked to Eric on skype tonight, I never made him one...so if you are interested send me your details via PM...I will send you one...
