I am considering relocating to another area with my family, and leaving behind my established business from the last 15 years. My thought would be to start a new tree service wherever I may end up at, so I would be holding onto all my gear, vehicles, etc..
Have any of you ever "sold" your client lists off? Not sure how it would work, but there must be some sort of a way to do this. One of my main climbers, who has been with me for the past 8 years, is well known to almost all our clients. He would seem to be a good candidate for selling it off to? We have a pretty good list, about 1300 clients. Id say that about 75-80% of our business is repeat, and the other 20-25% is new business.
We are a small tree service, and do about 350-400K a year in sales. Any thoughts?
