Saw shutting off and not running at full power

I have an Echo CS 271t, great climbing saw but it’s started shutting itself off at times if I let my hand off the trigger and it doesn’t seem to always be running at full power.

Any thoughts on what could be the issue? I bought it in 2017, used it and then it sat unused for most of 2018.

If you do a lot of cut one limb and shut off, cut one limb and shut off, it may not get hot enough to keep the exhaust clean. When I have done that a lot with pruning with my 193t, I was getting build-up. Fix it by leaving it idle between cuts, and occasionally buck a piece of wood with it, getting it running full temp.

Make sure your air filter and fuel filter are clean, too. The spark plug may foul from running cold, too.

Sometimes, its some from Column A, some from Column B, and C.

Along with checking plug, if you left it sitting with ethanol gas, then you may have a little corrosion in carb. If true, then try a simple cleanup. Remove carb, carefully remove metering diaphragm and fuel pump, inspect both. Check carb body for signs of corrosion. Saturate carb with PB Blaster and let it sit for a few hours. Keep it saturated. You can use a toothbrush and pipe cleaner to gently clean surfaces and jets while covered with blaster. Blow it out with carb cleaner and reassemble. Retune if necessary. Also check the rubber fuel lines while disassembled for loss of rigidity, cracks, air leaks, etc.
