Saw Pod

[ QUOTE ]
Been thinking of switching over to the leg mount for a while now. Do you find the handle poking you in the inner thigh when climbing/Footlocking? Ever find it just gets in the way, or is hard to dock/undock the saw?

I think its always easier find the scabbard on the leg than it is to find one on the hip. It just seems that in most positions my calf is easier to find than a scabbard hanging from my saddle. It has never gotten in the way when footlocking but it does have to be on the opposite side as your lanyard because that can become a mess.

Once I got used to having the saw on my leg I never looked back. I took some getting used to though.

At this point I can't stand having a handsaw scabbard dangling around.

Could someone post a picture of this type of magnet? Or better yet the whole set up? Visual learner.

I have been using the Saw Pod for about a week now, after my wife altered the bottom strap. It fits snug now and I think it is going to work for me. I still reach for it at my hip and tend to drop it a lot more, but I do think the leg mount is easier to access in most situations. I am definitely going to give it some more time to refine and get used to.

I bought the silky mount with my Zubat 390 at ISA last year. It didnt come with straps for some reason

so I bought a diving knive from kershaw and the rubber straps for that work GREAT for mounting the saw to my leg. I also have the dropping issue but no more than the hip mounted blade. Only wish I have is that it would mount better over my hooks. Right now I dont normally take the handsaw on removals (unless it on my hip) because it doesnt fit right. Then I get confused because it isnt where its supposed to be (on my leg).
