Saluting Branches.

Very humbling and sobering to have been a part of such a great event. I was at Fort Snelling and agree with Tom - I lost count of the clam trucks headed out with full loads. Looking forward to next years event already.'Saluting Branches' Fort Snelling (2).webp 'Saluting Branches' Fort Snelling (4).webp 'Saluting Branches' Fort Snelling (5).webp 'Saluting Branches' Fort Snelling (13).webp

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields. John McCrae

Awesome photos jmcscrap. Thanks for p[osting them.

Glad to hear ML. Our project is Saturday at Andersonville. Seems that the veterans administration had too much red tape and too many hoops for a project in Marietta Ga. Aville is NPS so they are a bit different. They jumped at the chance for us to come. TL is coming from Ctown SC
Can't wait!
Man, I was SO looking forward to this but had to cancel at the last minute. I didn't think a 5 hr drive was a good idea with stomach issues, which are still going on. And the wife and one kid have it now so I'm pretty sure it's contagious. Anyway, my apologies oldoakman. I hope you'll pass this on to the others and we'll get to meet up one day. Sincerely, Will

Ours was fun , pretty small trees though so it was more structural pruning and or just elevation . I hope we get to participate every year and see the progress of the trees because its a relatively new cemetery..

Thanks Mark for the additional photos and the video. I was too busy working and keeping my eyes on absolute rookie groundies that I had no chance to take any. Guess the day will have to live in my mind. Have to ask though, how did you manage to cut the same limb twice??

TL, if you have the same stuff I had a month and a half ago, you are completely forgiven! The stuff I had kept me down for a week, missed 2 days of work and I can't remember the last time I took a sick day for being sick, cardiac stents don't count in my book. You ARE however on the judges list for the Georgia TCC so mark your calender for February 20, 2016.

To all who participated this week, Job well done!

What an amazing event. I would love to contribute my time to honour Canadian soldiers. Big Green usually has the contract for Beechwood Cemetary which is Canada's National Cemetary, the National Military Cemetery of Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Memorial Cemetary. It's an amazing site and would be such a privilege to work there.

I will look into it. I will start a conversation with you when I find more info. Thanks Magnum 783

owScott....I just signed up here in Denver...bumping this thread to find out what companies are involved here in Denver.

The only problem I saw with the website was it didn't seem to show who had been involved with that site in the past years.

Anyone who missed it last year and wants to be involved this year it is in a few weeks. Signs are still open and it's a great way to honor our veterans. And it's a lot fun hanging with guys you might only see once or twice a year.
