Salespeople I need your advice!!!

I know I am trying to let yall know where Im coming from and a little of the situation without being so open so you guys can give me your opinion.

Let go of the other guy's stuff. Look at your own work as a separate profit center working independently of the other manager. Is there room to increase your revenue and profits? Are you upselling or cross-selling to your clients? Are you marketing to dormant clients in the database? You've heard the percentages now you'll have to come up with ways to take advantage of a commission.

It's always good to hear sales arborists say they aren't in it for the money.

That is cool and all if it is a hobby. Other than that, I don't know about you lads, but I leave the house in the mornings to go sell for one thing....$$$$

Winter coming on, I would push for a higher base and lower commission

Of course come spring you'll be wishing is was a lower base and higher commission.

I think sales works best with commission...gives people the reward and hunger...also gives them a reason to follow through

Its not that I worry about the other guys stuff I just used that to explain why I feel the way I do. As far as telling customers something is wrong with their trees to cut them down thats something I would not do. If I go out to do a tree estimate of course I look at everything and if a customer wants to cut a tree down because its dying but I see that it has bores I try to talk them into getting it treated instead of removed. That has happened on several occasions alot of people dont know what bores or scale or oak wilt is and that is where I feel good about myself cause I can explain it to them and save them some money. We just dont cut trees down if I know I can save a tree I will try even if there is a 70-30 chance of it dying i will explain that also and leave it up to the customer. I dont want to cost them money with an injection and the tree dies. My customer appreciates that I go over everything with them and try to save them money but make money for the company. Shhot there have been times when people wanted to get really pretty oaks cut down and tried to talk them out of and I always ask why do you want to cut it down. I always find something in common with my customers and I treat everyone like they are my only wheather they are spending 3000. or 300. thats just some of the things I do.

I am on 100% commission. I am not in it for the money, and I love what I do, but if I don't sell that day, I may not be eating three months later.

Which might be a good thing, considering I have ramped up on my winter weight surprisingly early this year.

What does your weight gain have to do with sales?

My weight gain has everything to do with sales.

How dare you question me!
