The SAKA mini is now available on my website.

Compact Self Advancing Knee Ascender for climbing a rope. In conjunction with a foot ascender (coming soon from CI), the SAKA mini allows a climber to simply walk up a rope. Easy to use, easy to store and carry.

  • 2' of super stretch bungee, solid rubber core and Dyneema cover for strength and wear resistance. 2-5 pound pull. (3 pounds at 18 inches of pull.)
  • 2' of 5/8" webbing adjustable for any reasonable stride or size of climber.
  • Simple to adjust.
  • 7.95 ounces.
  • Load bearing buckle designed and built just for the SAKA mini.
  • Compact for easy storage when not in use.
  • Uses the original SAKA ascender with progressive tooth pattern and rope friendly spring.
  • Comes with two small, 4kN rated carabiners and one 22 kN carabiner.
  • Works for climbers of all sizes, no need to choose between length or foot attachment.
  • SAKA mini video

Glad to see the latest innovation! Looking forward to trying it out. It's gonna be hard to beat my original saka, but it sure looks like you have.

How much for it?

Hey thanks for the video nice you had me worried until the end because I do put two small carabiners in there and I couldn't figure out why I didn't see it to begin with. We need to get you a foot ascender on that other leg. Even without a chest harness it looks like you got the tending figured out, well done.

I just clipped to the top mount in the Uni for now. The tending is real smooth, thanks to progressive tooth pattern & the rubber+dyneema bungee -- that stuff is really brilliant.

From a safety aspect I would truly avoid connecting anything on the upper part of the uni that actually pulls down.
Yes, besides the load-bearing buckle the real magic is in that bungee and how soft and elastic it is and then it reaches the end and stops.

Yes, a foot ascender and one of your chesties would complete his ensemble nicely.
