saddle advice/ opinions......

Looks like i havent posted in over 5 yrs, wtf. Im getting tired of my Weaver floating D buttstrap saddle! i dont climb everyday, or every week for that matter , but enough that im sick of the pinch of the Buttstrap. I briefly tried a Tree Motion saddle at Jambo and had no idea what i was missing. However, i also have my eye on the Matt Cornell Rope Saddle. I would rather support the small guy. Even though i only climb here and there, I dont have a problem spending 5 bills for comfort on the rope! Help me out!

Both great saddles but my preference is the Onyx. I also don't climb every week but alot may depend on your size and weight. Not really much cheaper, maybe 100 bucks less.

Hear you on that, Buckingham versitile is my daily dream.
I have tried the Tree Austria 3.1 and liked alot, 3.2 looks even better.
Priced reasonable for a good saddle.

I have the Edge and don't like it. It doesn't stay adjusted and seems heavy and too bulky. I'll be testing the Onyx or Treemotion when I'm ready to spend.

Haven't tried MCRS, but I love both my saddles, Onyx and Sequoia, both just great. TM and Ergo are both nice too, Ergo a bit heavier and thicker padding. Whatever you get, try suspenders, you won't be sorry.

I love my Sequoia, super light weight and has every option for customization I have ever needed. All of the wear points are replaceable and the new rings on the bridge alow many more options for your main connection point.
I climbed a butt strap, a cougar, and an edge before the sequoia and I will never go back to all of the bulky padding, leather and steel.

Sequoia hurts my back unless I'm in spikes. The ergo is comfortable but the leg straps loosened up on me mid climb the other day. I've had no problem with my tree motion except hanging a husky 446(?) off of it, but Im used to it now I just let the saddle sag a bit. I want a mcrs. I played the crane game at jambo and that's the saddle they were using. Usually when you getting pulled in different directions its uncomfortable, I didn't even notice in the mcrs.

When hanging in the MCRS, do the pads do a good job of spreading out the load from the cordage? Im guessing the MCRS could be rebuilt with cordage of ones choice?

You don't even know they are there. Even on the original Kuemmerling rope saddle the rope was not a problem.

I demo'd an Onyx, bought a MCRS. Very happy. A lot is personal preference. I wanted to like the Onyx more than I did.

I've heard that about the Onyx from a few folks. I love mine but know many do not. In fact the omly thing stopping my from buy the MCRS is my Onyx. I agree with others though that the Cornell saddle is comfortable.

I thought all saddles go out of adjustment. Electricians tape temporarily to test then a few stitches with sail making twine when I want it to stay permanently.
