Ryan's grapple with power rotation issue/question?

We run an Avant 528 with a Ryan's power rotating grapple. The issue I'm having is when hitting the selector switch, to change from "grab" to rotate it sometimes doesn't work. I've located the area of concern. Its not on the Avant end, but it is the selector switch that has a bad connection. Just in front of the hook up attachment point. I can squeeze it and it works, or tape, or even lash it to get some use in a pinch. My question is this. Do you think Ryan's would have this component and is selector switch a good way to describe it. Also has anyone dealt with this before? I know there's pro's and cons to the power option on the grapple. we love it and in our dynamic, it makes sense to have. Thanks for any input. I'll take a pic today and post it as I may not have describe the issue very well.

Two things that tend to work for me, reach out to the manufacturer to source the part or take the part off and look for a part number to source it yourself. Google typically pulls up several parts suppliers that carry a particular component.

As far as your switch specifically, I don't own a Ryan's and my BMG is the knockaround version, so no hands on experience.

From the looks of that, I'd say a weak connection inside the plug. Can the plug come apart to check the electrical connections?

If there no issue of a warranty and this plug doesn't effect any other attachments, you could also swap it out with a readily available plug. Just double check how may wires there are and that it's weatherproof.

That's the issue spot on. I've taken it apart before. Thanks a bunch for the advice I really appreciate you taking your time to offer some thought. I'll update you when we get it back to 100%. This machine is at about 800 hrs and this is the first glitch, and its the implement, not the machine.. so no complaints to this point.

How many wires/cables?

I would swap it out for something similar to the Caterpillar “Deutch Style” Connectors in the appropriate size & cable count: they are very good in such positions.

We have a Ryans power rotation grapple on a Ditch Witch. Another tip if you aren't already, check the torque on all your bolts regularly. Specifically the ones that hold the rotator and grapple together. Bolts on ours all sheared off at 400-500 hours and the grapple fell off the rotator .

Thank you, good tip. guess we've been lucky so far. I ordered a new cable from our seller, and "fixed" the current issue for the time being.
