For example this is a super simple/minimal yet efficient vertical ascent system with rope walker-like functionality. I used that system to ascend old-growth sequoia and many big white pines, worked great. this video was likely my last climb on it. Aha, just realized I also used a remotely releasable base anchor for that climb, more efficient use of my rope when I want to keep the gear on my back light hiking in.
