nah i always go right at or less than the diameter for biscuits. you want em kinda squarelike for four footers i go between three and four feet. i did a loblolly (bull) pine that was 65 feet of 30" to 40" trunk so i cut them 3' give or take; according to my green weight chart, that i down loaded from tree buzz, they weighed about 1100 pounds a piece. does that sound right to anybody else, cause it really doesn't to me; the tree was green. i figured them to be in the 4 to 5 hundred pound range. they took them out whole with two or three men and a blue dolly from harbor freight. hell that crazy log chart says the 30"ers weighed 780lbs wtf.
