My Foreman , My friend .
In my life of crime, being removing trees, large beautiful ones, dead or soon to be dead also, I once had some teachers. In your life you are lucky if you find just one. I was lucky enough to meet a few. One was a Big muscular Black man who laughed a lot. I left my Dad’s company to go and work for Bartlett. I met a good man twice my age, twice my experience, and we took a lot of trees Down for the seven years we were together. I was a foreman alongside him, but he was always the foreman. Smashed some crazy trees with him before cranes were the cradle. A great man, family, foreman, and friend. Robert Timmons, 43 yrs @ Bartlett, be what you can be, but that man has big shoes to fill. Today you can be a foreman at 21 years old. Well a real foreman passed away last weekend. Is what it is, RAISE YOUR GLASS TO BOB TIMMONS, A GOOD MAN! SOLID, straight up !

To Bob Timmons!

WHAT???? Bob passed away??? May he rest in peace. he was a great man. you would never be able to tell his age till he removed his hardhat, after 43 years in treecare he was built like a brick sh** house. No matter how hard a job you had that day he always had a smile and a great laugh to lighten the mood. He will be missed.

Sorry to chime in so late. I told Riggs I would post first, but either way.

Bob Timmons was the baddest treeman out there. He was from the old school that could put to shame most climbers at the age of 50 when I met him. I was 20. It took me about 2 yrs to get good enough to at least hang with him in a tree. At that time putting a pulley under your hitch was advanced. Using ascenders was laughed at by Bob. He would get out his ladder and polesaw and start up the tree. I would get out my high tech throwline/throwball, hook on srt with ascender and have at it. He would laugh at me while I messed around and he was already making cuts!

He taught me how to dismantle a tree with nothing more than a rope and saddle, and 2 lowering lines. The things I learned from the basics of old school are priceless. To this day I still pull out tricks that Bob taught me and most guys are baffled by the simplicity. I dont think there will ever be a treeman like Bob again.

Bob Timmons is a legend in our Philly area. When I was at the viewing I was the only tree guy to say a few words about how Bob was at work. I heard lots of things from the family and other friends, but I felt like all needed to know who Bob was at work. Bob had the utmost respect from ALL tree guys in the surrounding area, even if you never met him, you heard of him enough to respect him.

A legendary warrior has fallen. Pay your respects with blood, sweat and tears.
