Robbed

Pacific Tree Care in Calistoga, California (1 hour north of San Francisco) was robbed late Saturday night (7/14). Between 20 and 30 chainsaws were stolen (ms192T's, husqy 346xp's, 372's, 3120xp's etc...), climbing gear, computers, a F-250 pickup.

All of the chainsaws have Pac Tree with the phone number carved onto the side. Other items were stolen as well, but are too numerous to list here. Just thought I'd send the word out in case anyone ends up with one of the saws or pieces of equipment.

PM me or call Jake Schneider at Pacific Tree Care at (707) 942-0261 if anything turns up. Website is www.pacifictreecare.com

Thanks.

I'll keep my eyes out for the stuff. It is going to be tought to liquidate 30 saws without bring attention to one's self. They are probably not a smart criminal.

There are middlemen who handle this stuff, they buy it very cheap from the usually drug involved thieves and can sit on it for a while or redistribute out of the immediate area. This is essentially organized crime even if the original thieves were not. I'd monitor eBay, Craigslist, all of the online used gear sellers.

By the large scale of theft this is totally targeted crime. It smacks of inside job either former employee or someone who had a business relationship with the company.

Agreed. Either you were watched closely, or someone knew what you had and where you kept it from someone who works/worked there.

It always hurts when your stuff gets stolen, the last climbing saddle I owned was stolen in a large scale heist of our shop a few years ago.

It still stings.

Hopefully you will be able to recover your stolen saws, and if not, have been able to learn from this and hopefully make it more difficult for those sons of guns to steal your stuff!

Nice!! Hope you got your saws & other equipment back. If you didn't I hope your insurance covers it. I know mine does.

That's good news!

In semi-related news, my wife's car was stolen from our driveway two weeks ago. Last week, the Madison PD pulled a 15 year old kid over driving the car. He told them that he had bought the car for $500 a few days prior from somebody that he didn't know, couldn't describe and had no way of contacting. Now he's sitting in juvie!

some damage to our car, mostly just bad smells, that he gets to pay for. they used most of the car as an ashtray.

We were getting a little excited about buying a new car, then the stink-mobile showed up.

All in all it's a pretty rad situation to be in....

Doped up robbers get what they deserve.
