RIP Jamie Goddard

54 is way too young. Rest in Peace brother.
He sounds like a good man. Anytime we hear someone dying that young, makes you wonder if the vaxx got him. A lot of my friends have been going early. Some that I begged not to get it. Hard to watch. I'm not trying to make his death political, but this is something very real. Not sure how to deal with it...

My first climbing line was Yale Ropes Poison Ivy, thx Nick Araya for suggesting it at the time, 2005. Ha, it milked more than 2.5' of cover, that's how a great line can start its career.

Thank you Jamie Goddard, that game changing contribution to tree climbing would be enough. Clearly there's so much more that you mean to your loved ones, your community, and the greater community of tree climbers.

I'm looking forward to nothing but the celebration of Jamie's life and the related stories I'd love to hear. Or quiet and simple respect, he is deserving of all of it.

I had several experiences with Jamie over the years. Mostly at Yale factory events or comps.

He was a real generous guy, even when he opened up the entire room of “shorts” for the splicing workshop attendees to use for practice. They normally sell the shorts to companies that make dog leashes and such, but he let is pilfer that pretty heavily.

May the man rest in peace and his family carry on with grace.
