I knew I was going to get it with the semantics thing there.
Sure it's "static." I think if the adjustable (floating) side is tied off stationary to something, then it is now "static" because it cannot move when logs are being rigged out.

I was merely suggesting an alternative to a rigging false crotch.
And as usual... Not every technique is "bomber" for all situations. If anyone were to use the technique I suggested... Then, please... determine the approximate weight of your log and multiply that by 4. Look at your rigging point in the tree and ask yourself, "Will that hold?"
FTR. I have never had a rigging point blow out and I use this technique often.
