Why would you use a screw shackle instead of a double-locking carabiner for atachment of a friction saver to the wire rope above the ball?
FWIW, as long as the arborist and the load aren't on hook at the same time, which is safer?- Climbing a tree that has defects bad enough to warrant a crane removal in the first place, or tying into a machine designed to lift hundreds of times more weight than the arborist? What's the safety factor of listing a 200 pound climber with a 40 ton crane? Compared to a 200 pound bucket operator in a 300lb rated bucket?
Sheesh. If you can't trust your crane to lift YOUR weight up there, it's time to junk the P.O.S. and buy a new one, doncha think?
