Request: end line knot for heavy loading

In my personal experience, I've never had a Zeppelin bend jam.
I have seen many instances of falsely tied Zeppelin bends (where the person thought they tied a Zeppelin but in fact tied something else). Tying knots is a skill - and like all skills, it takes deliberate sustained effort to reach competency (ie to reach a level of 'conscious competence').
Brion Toss and his so-called 'Strait bend' was published in ignorance of Phil D Smith's 1953 book 'Knots For Mountaineering' (published some 20 years before Brion Toss). Phil had shown the Butterfly bend at illustration #28.

...Fun exam question in below image: Which one is the real Zeppelin bend (ABC)?

Interesting question. The knot I was shown over 50 years ago as the Zeppelin bend, always comes out looking like the "A" pictured knot. I never really questioned if it was the 'real one' but it has worked well for me when needed.
