No way, bucket whatever possible (removal wise that is).
That tree was nearly 90' tall. Climbing it would've added 3-4 hrs. to the job. And when it's over 90* and you have a 3.5 hr drive home, shave time wherever you can!
Dude, you believe in cutting large pieces. Was that an Endura Braid lowering line? It didn't look all the big in diameter. Nice pics. Gotta love the bucket. Invaluable for parkway removals.
That bucket was a friends bucket up there. When there is a big tree to come down, lots of co.'s flock to see it. It was great. A 75' bucket and a prentice just for the price of being part of the show!
Yeah, when the tree is big and there are static loads, I'll go as big as I can. When I butt-hitch, I go wayyyyy smaller!
Man... that's it: I'm moving. Here I Ontario (Oshawa area), today I just climbed a 95 foot Carolina Poplar with a trunk which my 10 foot lanyard would just barely fit around at 12 feet up. We had a 28 ton crane which I was working with, who was there for 5 hours, and our usual total of 4 man crew... all wood and brush removed and gone: $2000.
I hope to have photos of the removal up soon actually... though unfortuneatly I didn't see the camera out while I was making that last cut 12 feet up with my STHIL 066. Now that's a tree saw! /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
