"Second most money?"
Who took the first "most" money, and by how much?
Choices, it's what we have. It's all we have.
On the "with us or against us" wisdom, here's a little something that for some might mean patriotistic marching alongside the troops as they help hurricane survivors and hand out candy to kids. For others, especially what's going to be growing hungry masses and trying to find shelter...it's ominous beyond approach:

It's thoughtful timing, yesterday the German Defense Minister announced a similar reassignment. Brought home from Iraq to police the streets of Berlin. Combat hardened, crowd control experienced, the war in Afghanistan is screaming for more troops and we're bringing home what's a tactical expectation instead of empathy for long tours and dashing hopes for "winning the war on terror?"
Listen to me carefully. I'm kind of into cancer research and promising new treatments, and most importantly: patient advocacy. Parcel to these issues is the root cause of the unparalleled rise in occurances...one of four Americans. Twenty years ago is was one of ten.
Suppressing data that's fundamental in instigating research into causes - the State Tumor Registries - has happened under Bush's watch. We no longer can find out who gets what cancers where. Telling? Let me know if you can figure this out, please.
Two, and an important issue as well, research into causitive effects. It's been all but stopped and more so, what's been done has been silenced. Under Bush watch again.
The EPA maintained, by law, the data. It's been removed from the web. Our EPA, our web, and our funded science.
Now we get into the "sensitive" issues of treatment research. Promising, verified, quality research already performed to unprecendented success in clinical studies. Stem cells. Bush threatened it, the candidates will stop it.
On "moral" grounds? This is values?
Industry and religion. Prospered under and now threatening us all from the current "values" leadership, and your team is not just the same, but worse. I know, I'm into research on cancer, war's another story.
If your empathetic responses to 9/11 are real, the innocent victims you feel for, I'm anxious to know how your expectations for the future land.
