That was water gurgling out of a wind check. Sucking air and then pouring out, sucking air again and the pouring. Can go on like that for some time.

Although sound on the butt the way it fell so fast says it didn't have a top. Probably only a stub. Residual for sure,, being in that second growth stand.

That video showed the absolute apex of the art of using an axe and a misery whip. Only a few years later, along came chainsaws and that whole knowledge, which had evolved over centuries, became obsolete.
