Red creek fir

Hey Ryan,
That's really interesting. I got to the stage when i had to choose "which way now "? I wasn't too sure how far up the co dom went that you climbed. As you know, besides the main trunk there were two possible co doms to climb. I didn't like the way the codom leaned away from the main trunk that you climbed - plenty of huge tearouts to remind you of the consequences !
I have a cool idea for next time i climb - i want to climb up the one co dom to the top, and then throw in a claw shot to the other codom, and traverse over, and then descend from there ! How does that sound ?
I'll put a picture in looking across to the other co dom
See you in two weeks.
Gareth

Sounds good Gareth. We had similar idea's in varying configurations. I'd even like to set a slackline up between the two if it's possible. Pretty terrifying though! The angle on the co-dom made me weary at first too but it's a tree in it'self. Our weight up there is insignificant compared to even a slight breeze acting on it. I figured they get some pretty hairy weather out there and it hadn't failed yet. See you in Redmond

hey gareth, where exactly is that tree if you don't mind sharing. I'm from norcal and would love to find out where the climb took place.

how come you didn't use a longer rope (didn't have one??)

great shots!

Hi Jon,
Yes you are correct - i don't have a super long rope.
The tree is just outside Port Renfrew, which is in the South Western corner of Vancouver Island. V.I. is an island off the west coast of Canada , west of Vancouver.
It is off the Port Renfrew road - it is poorly marked !
