Red Alert Issued!

Well, the story isn't complete yet, but here's what we have so far:

A friend who used to work for me (who I called when it happened to help "look out" for our stuff) was picking up logs for a company the other day. He noticed a Rope guide. He thought that this was weird since he couildn't imagine that these guys even knew what it was for. So, he asked the climber where he got it. He said that he didn't know what it was for. He said his boss bought it with a bunch of stuff off of a landscaper.

My friend talked to the owner and asked what else he had bought. When he showed him the "goods" my friend informed him that it was stolen and it was his friend's as well. The guy told him to take it and he'll get his money back. The climbers were still using one saw (192) and some climbing lines in the trees, so he left those. (Don't ask me why they would use used climbing lines /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif). My friend brought it to my house that night and asked me if I had a beer-then he showed me. I said "have 12 beers!"

Next morning, I called the tree co. that had the stuff. I thanked him for cooperating and he said that if he knew we would go to the cops he wouldn't have given the stuff back. /forum/images/graemlins/9lame.gif

He also said that the guy he bought it from didn't and wouldn't steal from use-"swear to God". I said "then he has nothing to worry about". He said that he would tell the cops to "go F themselves" (and he did). The cops said "then you're going to jail". He won't tell anyone where he bought it. We'll see how long that lasts.

Now I just wonder where the trail leads and if we will be vandalized for this "heat" that we are bringing.

Mark I am happy for you that you now know and have your gear. As for the heat look at what we all do for a livin, our gear is our life. My bud and I are taking heat from a comp. he busted for no ppe, I look at this way take the heat and warm up cause when the other theives see this action they will back away knowing that we are not just shved apes in trees, but shaved apes in trees with brains.

Well that's some good news.

Any chance of a mug shot of the wankers involved?

Tree workers flogging off each other eh ... pieces of shite.

Atleast you have some good cops that are helping, most wouldn't give a stuff. I had my car busted into twice ... didn't even get around to reporting it as the cops aren't interested and the cop shop I had to report it at is a 9am to 5pm place.

They dont take reports over the phone or send anyone out, useless, they reckon insurance covers it so no biggie.

Good news, Mark! That tree guy is mighty lame for not ratting on the real thief. Hopefully the cops find out who it was!

I'd sure like to know who stole my camera gear a while back, all $6500 worth.....

"He won't tell anyone where he bought it. We'll see how long that lasts."

It will last for-ever because my bet is that he or someone close to him stole it.

Bunch of BS that he bought it off of a landscaper. That's only what he was telling his men.

If he doesn't tell who he got it from, then he or someone close to him definitely did the steeling.

good news Mark
I'm very happy for you check very well ropes and the other stuff...may be they overuse or overcharge!!
hey Mark what about your personal E mail?
I've send you three mail but doesn't reply from you ...may be some problem with my PC?

Good for you Mark. X is right on, its sure rare to here someone got caught, and it sucks to think of the jerk retaliating some how, you were innocent in the first place, bas tards

Nice to hear that you are not an easy mark for thieves anymore. This should help keep them away. Good luck in the security area of you yard.

By the way some of those DVR's can send you an email about an alarm event with video clips attached. Check out the alarm input sections on the hook-ups. The new camera systems rock.
