Red Alert Issued!

Well, they're putting pictures and descriptions out to all of the state for other police to look at and they are driving by our yard three times per shift for the next 30 days. Other than that I guess it's up to us. We had a security company there today foe a proposal and a fence company to do the same. Lighting is next.

Couple things...

1) I've heard that many burglaries when it comes to gear are inside jobs. Nothing against your guys, but maybe past employees who left unhappy or something? I don't know.

2) A good friend of mine was having problems with theft at his office complex. He put up a fence, that didn't do much good. What did help was the camera system. Unlike his situation though you guys can get a couple of BIG, NASTY dogs... good theft deterrants normally.

We just installed 4 cameras at tnt and a recorder (sams club $590) you can even hook it up to the web so you can watch your shop from home. supposed to anyway still workin on that. Installed straps and padlocks across all our toolboxs. I'm hopin we'll deter the amatuer's.

I think I'd rather lose a bunch of stuff than lose a kidney, worse yet need a kidney. Your neigbors wife has bigger balls than me, amazing gift. As with most shi--y things in life Mark this time will pass and won't mean much in the future.
Look at all your budds you have on the buzz, losing them would be a real Bich.

6 or 7 years ago we also got hit to the tune of 15k. We could not work for 2 days(no saws). We now have lights fence and digital video recording. I hate to say it but kiss your gear goog bye. I had someone swipe a qube, 2 harrison rockets plus the zing-it in Nashville.

hey Mark,
do you remember when stolen two truck in the company of my wife?
was a bad period! plus because they suspect about an ex emploied...was right...and the truck were found by the police ,but from that time they use a digital recording sistem overwieng the entrance of the company 24/24 7/7..
it's not so expensive and it's work, because in case of stolen is a big help for found the BASTARD...

Mark , I don't know why anyone would steal a bunch of dull saws . Lights do help in a yard , but I bet most yard thefts are someone who knows the routine. The only thing worse than stealing tools is buying stolen tools.

Sheez Mark, if they find them I will bring up a 6 pack of whoop-ass and we can pop a top or two.

So far I have been very lucky/good community. After saying this I know I will be robbed tomorrow.... We have never had anything stolen.

Best wishes, let me know if you need some cans of whoop-ass. Humans are good, but inheriantly flawed. Just like apples, ya got good ones you eat, ones that are not yet ripe, and the rotten apples. The rotten apples you throw out in the woods and keep on with your life.

Hey I missed this post. Mark, sorry to hear about the loss. Sucks!

I have been wondering if that will happen to me, so I am going to take precautions.

I think taking a photo inventory of all the gear we own could help. Anyone check their insurance company policy on stolen stuff before? My broker said that the photo inventory is great idea to cover the losses. I am not sure if it would be 100% or what. But, some coverage is better than none.

It wouldn't be too hard to do either. Just take a digital photo of all your gear indivitually and list the price for each.

I had a friend have his saws stolen from a jobsite. Unfortunatlly one of them was my 440 that i let him use do to his was wrecked( do to a truck and a dog ) short but stupid story. In the long run of things was that preveouslly to leting him barrow the saw I engraved the saw in 3 places. When I heard of this i made a post up of the engravings and where to find them and headed to an auction at the auction we handed the posts out to the auctioneers and a week later the saw turned up and the lot they came in was there too. We got our saws back, and come to find out more loggers, and arborists had stollen stuff there too. I not poking at your misfortune, but contact an auction area near you and ask around about the stollen gear.

Sweet!
