Rear mount or forestry package.

We have both a 75' rear mount and a 65' forestry box. If you can do it go rear mount and 75' you will not regret it. The forestry box is good for smaller bucket jobs that are far away so you don't need to run two trucks out far from the yard. Also, it serves as another chip truck for us when we break down into three crews. But without a doubt rear mount is the best for set up and keeping things from falling on truck.

We run 5 elevators 1 rear mount hi ranger but we have a versalift and altec I personally prefer the hi ranger cheaper maintence stronger boom not as bouncy as altec elevator not as strong in base but heavier built main bearing but I like hi Ranger in forestry units as well

I'm looking at buying one myself. I want to find a rear mount at an auction but good luck with that. Also, finding a rear mount within an accommodating price range is another story. I'm a great climber so I feel I might be able to get away with a forestry.

Rear mounts are hard to find, gettimg a call or email back is even harder. Im seriously thinking of becoming a dealer in used bucket trucks.

Jimmy,

Have you talked with the outfit in Lewisville...on the east side of 35E, near 121? When I lived in Denton I'd drive past and see loads of trucks...thought I can't recall ever seeing a tree-truck.
