Hey, Swing! Nice to see the photos. Reminds me of Stock Island, only because you're looking out to the ocean. If the view were reversed, I'm sure the quality would be, too. Funny, I just got home from an estimate in which I talked a client into some crown work instead of removal. It doesn't always work, but it's nice to give it a shot. At least you have a conscience! I'm coming for vacation next year!

Thanks,Dylan just wanted to share the island flare with you guys. Not impressive like your pine, but these are the jobs I have had lately. As soon as I get my next monster tree ( our standards ) not California or Oregon I will remember to take some pics and post. Paul.

Etree you and the Mrs are welcome anytime, I will set you up with some BAJAN hospitality and give you guys a good time. A little kindness can stretch a long way. Keep things cool. I am always trying to save our trees these folks think topping=pruning I am always in a fight. They want value for their money hence the take it down 20 feet mentality. Difficult to educate and very frustrating, I am sure they feel I am just trying to shaft them sometimes when I suggest just removing the deadwood and a slight crown reduction. Here they feel I am being lazy. Paul

swing dude, im 22 and had the hardest time in the world getting HO's to believe me when i say topping is bad. they'd rather take the word of a guy who has been in the tree business for 30 years who says topping trees is ok. i decided to take some advice of folks on this site and put together a portfolio showing the adverse effects of topping and over pruning. i also have one with pics of palms and what happens when you dont disinfect your pruning tools after cutting crown rot victims. when people see the pics they go "hey that looks like the topped trees in the parking lot" and then when they see pics of the same tree 5 years later they see the rot and broken branches and go "oh i dont want that to happen to my tree". pics are your secret weapon dude!

Tom I want a job with you in Rhode Island, I am a Canadian born citizen with a Canadian passport, I will give 120%. Just want to spend my weekends in the woods like your avatar, I just love that atmosphere. Paul.

Paul~
You know, Rhode Island is the biggest little state in Massachussetts...HAHA. So, while you're up here with Tom, you guys can swing over to my neck of the woods.

Tom~
I was thinking of the dock and shipyard owned by The Rusty Anchor.

Paul, the pic is from my friends place in Vermont, 4 hours from here... But I would love to have you up for work and fun... and if you want to spend a week or three in Cozumel, PM me and I will hook you up!

Eric, I never spent much time on Stock Island, other than renting a boat a few times, and buying a couple used bikes. It's (in)famous for the landfill and the prison, though, hahaha!

Don't forget about Connecticut (the overachieving husband of Mama Mass and father of spoiled Rhodie) We have trees and a Keith Richards home too. I guess downsizing just means reducing the NUMBER of houses. And our girls always look like they just got back from Barbados (they probably did).

Yup good old kieth lives in CT, we have done alot of work at his house here in Weston. His house is purple and pink!
