4th year climber here, and new to the boards, my first post. Recently added a few things to my saddle. This is my new base setup. Slings and rigging gear go on the left Caritool as needed. The red rope is a 30ft short line and is somewhat of an intermediate replacement for using my 160' and 80' ropes to double crotch and will be used as needed as well. Ill prolly drop the grigri and footloop if im not doing a RADS ascent, and false crotch im not chunking down alot of spar. Only thing left is a larger diddy pouch that the medkit, foot ascender, throwline, and odds n ends will go in. I usually have a camel back on for water and suspenders if im rockin a full size saw for awhile. What do you guys think?IMG_20190728_100331_229.jpgIMG_20190728_100331_228.jpg20190728_091416.jpg

Whatever works for you man, just throwing it out there though that I don’t think you’d regret a multicender that’ll let you work from a single line.
Rope Wrench or HitchHiker 2 or X are pretty affordable if money is an issue. Akimbo is sweet, and the RopeRunner is beloved by many. Might see the Runner on sale around Labor Day maybe, or keep your eyes peeled on the TreeBay forum here. Always goodies coming and going.

No doubt. I like the fluidity of ddrt, changing anchor locations and the 2:1 advantage. I suppose some day ill get into srt work positioning like you fancy fellas

Go with a ropewalker-system and Hitch Hiker or other multiscender, rather than RADS.

I cut my handled petzl ascender for my floating ascender, plus drilled a couple holes for elastic on top, and adjustable footloop tied to itself with a prussic on accessory cord on the bottom.

You can easily incorporate 3:1 into SRT, as well, with that roller-biner, before launching into a limbwalk.

Welcome to the Buzz @Mattfitz! It's always great to share information and notes on gear set-ups with fellow climbers. I still use DdRT on almost every recreational tree climb I go on. My first SRT climbs were on a RADS system; it was a big improvement for me when I bought a Hitchhiker and started experimenting with rope walking systems.

What's that little yellow plastic clip for on the right side of the harness? Lanyard manager?
Thats for my gloves lol when i take em off to eat or smoke or whatever
