ramps for mini skid

BRT, PVC sheathing? Is that the thick material used in agriculture?

I'm thinking of using that on the floor and sides of a dump trailer to spread out forces when logs are set/dropped in it. Anyone know of material that would work better?

Ramps look like a nice set up for an all in one operation.
What Flying S. uses (Poly max) is more like the harder plastic used for CNC cutouts. It's great stuff! Waterproof and practically invincible.

Because I wanted sheathing only (*not load bearing) I went with a pvc sheet. It's used in kitchens and baths where moisture is a moderate issue. It's 1/2" thick and comes in 4x8 sheet just like plywood. Fairly flexible too. All that being said, you probably want the poly max for your application.

Another truck, another trailer, another driver that some of us may not have! Tedious to you, fits someone else's operation perfect. I hauled my machine back home today in the back of my truck, saved an hour of time and a 30 mile round trip. Well worth dumping the truck.... That needed to happen anyhow.

Lack of planning on your part...does not constitute an emergency on my part.

:-)

Anyone here ever thought of using a lawn care truck for your mini skid and stump grinder and towing a track lift with the same truck

Usually a tree operator who can afford a tracked lift has a bit more game. Additionally, why not just trailer both, or all three units if you're trailering the tracked lift anyways? Saves unhitching, which is fraught with "whoops, didn't chock those wheels", etc.

You can work with two guys with that set up

We have two omme lifts

What is meant by a lawn care truck?
Usually means something like this...a truck with a flatbed that has a dovetail.

Another thing you might actually be able to drop the ramps to the deck of the trailer if needed instead of unhooking

Only bad thing is many of these trucks with beaver tails do not have towing capabilities due to the fixed ramp (no way to attach the receiver to the frame). For a while we were looking at going over the side of a flat bed with the mini to avoid unhooking but are persuing a different route currently.

This one has a removable tail

Correct. Looks like a neat idea.... still has no towing capability with no hitch (on this truck). Maybe one can be added but the logistical nightmare of getting everything home would drive me insane.... load SS, unhook tail, hook trailer (I guess the tail stays).
I think @climbhightree has one of the best logistical two man setups around. Mini always has a spot going out or coming back loaded. The second guy can drive the wood wagon (whatever shape that is). Also our chip truck goes to every job, sometimes the dump trailer isn’t needed but right now for us if we want the SS it comes too. So some pruning, log truck pick up jobs or wood stays we have to drive the extra truck out just to have a skid loader. Where you just roll :bailando:

I agree. I have a similar set up to @climbhightree. I actually got his advice when building my truck which was very helpful. I just bought a dump trailer and am going to add a tow truck and that will be my 2 man set up. It is the most efficient set up for a small company IMO.
Sweet. You did what I have not accomplished yet, but always wanted to...putting a bucket under the platform.

I just don't seem to get around to installing the brackets, and I don't have a bucket that would fit there either (mine is too big/tall)
