Central Indiana, here.
About 17 years ago, one afternoon I'd gotten out of the shower and was walking into the kitchen in my apartment. I heard the ductwork in the utility closet rattling and thought maybe a big gust of wind had passed by. I went outside, and everyone up and down the way was standing on the front porch looking around. The guy next door said, "yup, that was an earthquake, just like back in L.A.".
Then a few years later one afternoon I was sitting right here at this desk. I'd picked my heels up and was pressing my knees against the bottom of the drawer when I thought I felt the place quivering a little through my legs, or maybe it was small muscle spasms... Later, on the news, I heard them talking about the earthquake centered down by Terre Haute. It had been perfect timing on my part, or I would have likely missed the event entirely.
Weird.
