The job is still up in the air, waiting for more info from the soils engineer, and the prime contractor isn't 100% sure they've got the job....

Including all permits, road closure fees, and flaggers, the crane bill is : $3750 set-up, and $490 per hour for actual work.

I will have my rope supplier splice up a 5/8 (57,000 lb tensile) and a 9/16th Plasma sling, maybe 40 feet long, which I'll attach with a series of marls, as you suggested, Mark. Two on each lift. Thanks for the tips....it was what I had in mind anyhow, but always good to have feedback. The crane estimator was skeptical, but I told him the sling would be certified. I added a line item of $300 on our estimate for the supplies, which I think is fair. Something that long won't get much use...unless I make 2 shorter slings out of one of them.
