Put my new and first SRT system into production today!

I love predirect! Sweet, I'm gonna tag you every time I use that trick.

The Throwline was in you, Paul, you just had to want to get it out. I have to thank fellow Buzzer, "Gazza", for making me want to rely on my hand throwing skills. Thanks, @gazza! (Looks like he may not be registered anymore...tag doesn't work...)

The whole reason to changing over was to go lighter and more nimble, not more weight on the belt.

That's what the natural crotch is for, right? At most, I've been using two slings with a biner, and haven't needed more than that.

The more stuff I add, then it seems to take away the benefits of a single line.

Bro natural crotch only goes so far...so many variables...sometimes ya just have to sling/biner it...I have done big wide spreading trees that use 6 redirects both natural and sling/biner...even a static redirect using another pinto/biner....need to be prepared....I climb pretty light...just keep ploughing through....me I will never go back..my muscle memory hates DdRT now...been so long

Content without context...Talking about what system is used and how much gear to carry can be a never ending rabbit hole, unless we include the applications and goals of our work order/rec climb, etc...

What I will say is that I rarely pull gear off my saddle. I carry:
- Mulitiscender of the Day & Rope (need that [thanks Morgan, @treebing, @surveyor, @pctree, @JMerritt !!!])
- Lanyard with a thimble loop on the working end (need that, too)
- Web sling/Biner (ultra fast redirect without passing system through a natty, or good hold on a branch I'm cutting with a handsaw)
- Ringloop/Biner (Ghost Technique or static redi)
- Handsaw &/or MS192T (need that)
- Oval Mallion (where do I begin? Never know its there until you want it, so...)
- 12oz. Throwbag (rope advancement, setting predirects [thanks @swingdude])
- John Kays SLICtool (AWESOME in cold weather, super small [thanks @John_KAYS!])
- Whistle ( Dudes! Watch your head!)

With that gear, I do not feel impeded and I'm ready for any scenario in any work climb in any tree in my work area. I grapple with retrievable redirects and that's the only kit I have not listed. I just rarely ever want one in my area, but I do have one in my gear bag.

I'm headed to a Nor Cal TreeStuff Rex climb tomorrow to pick up some tips, make sure I'm doing my anchors right, and test some gear - next purchase is a more comfortable saddle.

What are you riding now?

A BULKY Sherrill Edge that will not stay adjusted.

I did some training with ACRT and really like how the Weaver Cougar fit, which is like half the price.

I'm very interested in testing the TM, new tribe, and Matt Cornell saddles. Also the August H. saddle should be out soon.

Tried out a variety of saddles TreeStuff rec climb party - loved New Tribe and TM with added suspenders!

MCRS was okay. It sure cuts into the legs. One guy said he only uses it on removals.

So far I love my MCRS. But don't discredit the TM. Swing has a bunch of years seated in his.

It wouldn't have if it had been adjusted correctly for you. It is a tremendously adjustable harness but takes quite a bit of trial and error due to all the knots.

I agree. I put it on and fiddled with it a little bit, so I can't say I put it to a real test. It had the best suspenders though.

I've thought about getting suspenders for mine. I might want them on when I have to drag a big saw around. Then again I should stop procrastinating and rebuild my 036 and run the 24" bar on it.

I wish you didn't share the last part with me. I only had my 66 in the tree a couple of times. The 36 is a snotty mid sized saw that doesn't grunt with a big bar in front. I even ran a 28'' on it but it became very nose heavy
I use a 661 and a 460 with a TM ...no major issues but I have an ass

My fav saw of all is a 460 with a dual port muffler...25" bar and full chisel skip chain....now I am using square grind ripping chain not sure...when I went to the UK sold all my saws...so now I started with a fully modded 201 14" using non safety link...a muffler modded 192 12" for pruning....a 261 muffler modded 20" non safety should be 18 but runs very well....then my 661 pig muffler modded using a 25/36....but my next saw will be a 461...muffler modded that will run the 25"/28"
