Pulling out stump with a mini-van.

I tried to get a picture for ya, but....

Today, I saw from the road, a guy hooking up a mini-van to a 6 foot high stump. It was only about an 8 to 10 inch diameter stump. I thought it was a maple at first and thought, man this is going to be good.

I quickly called my brother and told him to race there with his camera. It would have been a great picture, a mini van hooked to a stump with a junky red rope. And he was yanking on it.

Ya know what, he did get it out though. Looks like he had a little bit of smarts, cause he went around it with a matix first and left that 6 foot stalk for leverage. Turns out, it looks like it was a bradford pear after all too, so that helped.

I think it was stupid though. Risking hurting your mini-van, then having to dispose of the root ball and having a hole to fill, not to mention looking stupid doing this next to a somewhat busy road; verses paying probably $35.00 to have it stump ground by a tree company.

The camera got there right after he got it pulled over. I took 3 pics but they don't show much. sorry

Yep, Dumb human tricks like that pop up at least once a year here in MN. Then they have the nerve to get mad at me when I tell them the price to haul it away with the clam.
