porting a muffler

Depending on saw, just takes a extra hole drilled on some muffler types. On some add a deflector if the extra hole is in a area that can use it.
On the newer stihl saws like 460-660 open the pencil eraser hole up to the original size of the first o46-066 mufflers. Then add a factory dual port stihl muffler cover or make your own using a deflector in the front cover.

For the little screamer 200T I had, all that was required was pulling the spark screen.
There is further mods to the exhaust on a 200, but not needed for stock ones.

not a fun one to do, better off buying a muffler preported off ebay. I havent been on for a while, 2 years really, but Scott Wojo had them for sale back then.

Cali type emissions mean cats in the muffler, not easy to work around.
