This is a mountaineering sleeping platform manufactured by Grammicci. No longer in production, but would retail for about $750, when new.

This one was used by one of the guides to sleep 3 nites in the Bogachiel Spruce, during production of the movie.

This ledge is lighter and more compact than most other brands out there. 76" long X 27" wide. I'm 6'2", and the tube at the bottom hits me slightly in the heels, so I got a more roomy Sky Lounge.

Made of aluminum tubing with shock cord connections on the long side. Tube ends fit into heavy duty aluminum sockets, with nylon fabric and adjustable straps.

Also includes Grammicci rainfly. The fly has a drawstring closure, and even a stove vent that you can reach out of to adjust overhead lines, etc.

A separate full length Grammicci hammock suspends underneath from 6 carabiners for gear or another person. Hammock has a basket foot end to hold things securely. Kind of a bunkbed setup.

A real deluxe outfit, complete and ready to go climbing in the old growth.

Has been used, with the suspension straps and bed fabric showing some wear, but in good condition.

Includes two Grammicci stuff sacks, 1 for the ledge and 1 for the fly.

Price: $300

What is the weight rating on that? Totally unrelated but you said you got some good pictures of me at the PNW. I'd love to get some from you if I could.

Yup, another offer fell thru, so this ledge is still for sale.

I don't know what the rating is, and the Black Diamond website does not list a rating I could find in their voluminous literature.

I did find out my other 83 1/2" BD Portaledge is not the type that has a recall out on it, for having hollow hinge rivets. It is a Black Diamond Portaledge that has the solid rivets. I would sell this one for $300 also, if there's interest out there. It has no fly or other accessories. It sets up quicker, and is in better condition, but is heavier. I would like to get a double wide ledge.

No need to click on the attachment, as this photo is it.

Hey Murph,

Congrats on your performance in the Pacific Northwest ISA Tree Climbing Competition las weekend. Your 2nd place climb in the Masters Challenge was a joy to watch.

Sorry about this being in the wrong forum, but news is news. This is the only still photo of you (are you in there?), before my battery died. I switched to a backup video camera, but haven't watched any yet. I currently do not have any way to get Mini-DV digital tape video into my entry level laptop.

Got to use the Grammicci ledge in at the treehouse convention in Takilma. The attachment shows Japanese singer Keson taking a photo of his friend in the ledge.

Notice the treehouse kneebraces bolted on the tree at the upper right.
