If you think of it, next time you mill something will you snap some pics and post up so I can see the setup?

Absolutely. I need to learn how to post directly from my iPhone or iPad. Anyone know how?

Climbing today about 60 feet up I decided to have a snack so, I asked my ground guy to get the snacks out of the truck, attach a snack with a midline hitch on my climbing line, I pulled the snack up to my position in the tree and....I dropped one of my zebra cakes!!!!! good thing they come in pairs. Please be careful out there!!!!!

Maui, that's perfect. What's the competition like for work in hawaii? don't lie and try to deter me! i bet it's vicious though...

Tom, there should be a counter so people can see how many times they have been blocked... maybe it will help encourage some people to reconsider their behavior? eh, probly not...

Jeff, awesome job thanks for the thoughts. I'm still thinking about the best way to take that big dbh wood in that situation. I'm liking the notch idea, and yeah multiple would be required or even one all the way around like you said...

my question is does anyone know of a knot that can be cinched down snuggly and won't easily loosen (or loosen at all) on such a piece?

well theres 2 kinds of palm trimmers here. theres the cheap ones that use spikes and charge $20-30 a palm and have no insurance, then theres the professionals who run companies that have insurance and have use of proper safety gear. alot of the larger companies use bucket trucks to get the large state park jobs done faster, but most use machetes

and hack hack hack. its weird man. there is one HUGE tongan family here that owns 4 companies. the state says you cant have the same company do the big municipal jobs mor then one year in a row sooooo, the tongans that are all related one way or another cycle out the 4 companies to knock out any competition. they mainly focus on the large state ejobs so we dont dare touch them unless you want threats made on you and your company. alot of the money for "tree care" is made with private estates and residences. the company im working for currently Aloha Arbor makes most of its money doing land clearance jobs and large scale properties with multiple trees to prune. thats basically it.

Thanks Maui, very interesting. People that find their strength in numbers are generally weaker people. Individuality takes true strength, I hope your crew finds customers that realize that. Sorry to all the big companies out there, that's just how I see it...
