Pitch/sap management?

Any great tricks for reducing pitch/sap drip from pruning cuts?
I have a customer with a neighboring spruce tree that hangs over her deck and drips from pruning cuts and some buds/cones. The tree cannot be removed because it is owned by her neighbor who refuses. Any magic bullets out there I am unaware of to reduce, stop, catch the sap flow to keep it off her deck? TIA

I've tried this:

It helped but didn't always eliminate drops of sap - sometimes got more oozing than drips. Doesn't seem to hurt the tree.
There's a paper on it as well:

Sap drips on paint can be removed easily with isopropanol dampened rag, even on car paint.
