Pit Vipers

These are an alternative to the pit vipers:

I bought 2 pairs of the future techs. Waited for a sale (Labor Day I think) so got em for like 60 bucks a piece. Expensive to some folks? Certainly. But I don't go to the bars every weekend spending money on booze. I don't have expensive hobbies or smoke or anything like that. A visor for a kask is $60. In the grand scheme of things, its not that much money.

I personally didn't want the words "pit viper" on the lenses so opted for the heatwave future techs. I will say this, the future techs fit freaking awesome and they look amazing. I got a pair of the gold ones and I actually have people asking me about them pretty regularly. The lenses are interchangeable too. I wouldn't expect my employer to provide these, but I fully support showing some flavor on the jobsite. Helps boost morale.

Just to be super extra about it, I actually came up with an alter ego for when I'm wearing them. 3 people on our crew have different color schemes.

My safety glass budget tops out at about $12 per pair.

Less "show off" fashionable, the better to me.

I don't care if somebody else wants to wear those...doesn't bother me.

Mechanix, you know the brand that makes the various work gloves?….. they make some pretty good safety glasses, in the price range that losing, breaking etc…. isn’t too much an issue. The anti fog feature works well, and they even have some that are mil spec rated.

Man, ya'll ain't got shit to complain about on the price of decent safety glasses if you don't have a prescription to worry about. I have to wear some goofy shit just to be able to work.
Heatwave has a few prescription z87 options

Wileyx also has a bunch of prescription z87 options.
Before I got contacts, I bought these as prescription safety sunglasses:
I broke the arms a couple times and they shipped me new ones for free...even after owning them for over 5 years.

I wouldn't want to wear glasses all day - I sweat too much and they get fogged up too. Pfanner glasses flip up out of the way. The mesh visor keeps almost everything out, including the side. The glasses don't drop off my face. The glasses wrap quite a bit around, a la 1980s Oakley style. For me, it's about the ventilation for visibility and comfort, and eye protection.

I think those wrap-around Pitbulls are for style, and I concede they look badass and very functional. Just not as good as my Pfanners... ;) y'all uno, dos, tres it up out their.
